Q: Is this a physical or digital product? How much printing is involved? A: Little Homeroom is a Digital Sanctuary. Your membership gives you instant, lifetime access to our private Member Portal hosted right here on our site. It’s designed to be your "Parent Handbook," accessible from your phone, tablet, or computer whenever you need it.
Regarding printing: We’ve designed this journey to be low-ink and low-stress. Most of the curriculum is meant to be viewed digitally while your hands are busy at the table. You only need to print what you want to use—like specific Wonder Journal prompts or heirloom templates.
Off-Grid Friendly: For mamas who prefer to go low-tech or are homeschooling without reliable internet, we provide high-quality PDF versions of every unit. You can download and print these to keep in a physical binder as a family heirloom.
Q: Do I need to buy a lot of expensive or hard-to-find supplies? A: No! We believe in using what you have. "A Year of Wonder" is designed to be used with common household items and treasures from nature. Each unit comes with a clear materials list, and we provide a Master Supply List for the entire year so you can stock up on basics like paint and glue without breaking the budget.
Q: My child has a short attention span. Will this work for us? A: This curriculum was designed for children with short attention spans! The "menu of experiences" allows you to choose an activity that fits your child's energy level. The activities themselves are short, hands-on, and engaging. There is no expectation to sit still for long periods. The goal is short bursts of joyful, focused connection.
-
Q: What is your statement of faith? A: We are a non-denominational, Christ-centered curriculum. Our core belief regarding faith is centered on the gift of salvation: JOHN 3:16
Q: How is faith woven into the curriculum? A: Our goal is for faith to feel like the air you breathe—natural, life-giving, and part of everything. It is not a separate, "cheesy" subject. Faith is integrated through:
Mornings with Jesus: A daily anchor of scripture and prayer.
Christ-like Virtues: A weekly focus on a character trait like kindness, patience, or stewardship.
A Creation-Based Worldview: Every science and nature lesson is presented through the lens of a world designed with purpose and wonder by a loving Creator.

Q: Is this curriculum academically rigorous enough? A: We believe that a "rigorous" education for young children isn't about worksheets, but about building a powerful foundation for a lifetime of learning. "A Year of Wonder" is rich with foundational skills. While it feels like play, your child is developing crucial executive function skills, pre-reading and math competency, scientific curiosity, and a robust vocabulary. They will be more than prepared for future academic pursuits because they will graduate from this curriculum with the most important skill of all: a genuine love for learning.
Q: How do you specifically teach phonics and math? A: We believe that during these Formative Years (ages 3–7), academics should be tasted, touched, and experienced before they are memorized.
For Phonics: We use our "Secret Sounds" method. Instead of dry drills, we hunt for sounds in nature and stories. Your child learns to recognize letters and their sounds by "amplifying" the world around them—finding the “Sss” in the grass or the “Mmm” in the moon. We focus on phonemic awareness and a love for language first, building a bridge to reading that feels like a discovery, not a chore.
For Math: We focus on "Living Math." Rather than worksheets, we use our monthly units to explore counting, patterns, and logic. Whether we are counting the petals on a flower, measuring ingredients for a recipe, or sorting "treasures" from a nature walk, your child is building a concrete mathematical foundation they can actually see and touch.
Q: Is this a Charlotte Mason / Montessori / etc. curriculum? A: While we are deeply inspired by the "Living Books" of Charlotte Mason and the tactile, child-led exploration of Montessori, Little Homeroom is a "No-Box" curriculum.
We’ve taken the best of these philosophies—the beauty of nature, the respect for the child’s work, and the rhythm of the home—and woven them into a modern, flexible framework. We don't believe you should have to fit into a rigid pedagogical box. Instead, we provide the tools for you to build a homeschool that fits your unique family, rooted firmly in a Christ-centered worldview.

Q: What age is "A Year of Wonder" for? Can I use it with multiple children?
A: "A Year of Wonder" is lovingly designed for children ages 3-7. At the heart of every core experience are our Explorers (ages 3-4) and Voyagers (ages 5-7) variations. This makes the curriculum perfect for family-style learning, allowing you to teach your children together, beautifully and without stress.
Q: Is this a complete, all-in-one curriculum? What subjects does it cover?A: Yes! It's a complete, whole-child curriculum for the early years. Through our integrated, thematic units, we seamlessly weave together: Language Arts, Math, Science, Art, History, Geography, Practical Life Skills, Social-Emotional Learning, and Christian Character Formation.
Q: How many units are included and how long will this last?
A: "A Year of Wonder" includes 12 core monthly units, organized into seasonally-aligned quarters. It also includes 6 additional "Wonder Elective" units (like Little Chefs and Little Artists) that you can sprinkle in during holiday breaks or use to create a light and joyful summer term. It provides more than enough material for a rich, full homeschool year.
Q: Are the book lists required? What if my library doesn't have them?
A: The curated book lists are the heart of the curriculum's literary component, but you do not need to own every single book. We recommend using your local library as your first resource! If a specific book isn't available, don't worry. The units are flexible enough that you can easily substitute another high-quality, thematic book. We also include links to read-aloud versions on YouTube when available.Q: Can We Do Any Unit Any Time?
A: We have thoughtfully designed the units in "A Year of Wonder" to flow with the natural rhythm of the seasons and to build upon each other in a gentle, thematic way. For the richest and most cohesive experience, we highly recommend following the path as it is laid out in the guide.
That said, you are the expert on your family. The curriculum is your tool, not your master. If your child suddenly becomes fascinated with bugs in the middle of winter, or if a rainy week inspires you to jump to the "Little Clouds" unit, please feel free to follow that spark of curiosity! You can always come back to the path. The goal is joyful learning, not rigid adherence.
