frequently asked questionsWe're so glad you're here! We know choosing a curriculum is a big, heart-felt decision. Here are answers to some of the most common questions about "A Year of Wonder."
-
What do I get as a Founding Member?
You get a permanent seat in our village. Your one-time $199 enrollment secures lifetime access to the full Year of Wonder collection—including every future unit, update, and elective added forever.
Is there a community for support?
Yes! The moment you join, you’ll gain access to The Gathering Place on Mighty Networks. This is our private sanctuary away from the noise of social media, where mamas share project photos and walk this "slow-homeschooling" path together.
-
Is this a physical or digital product?
Little Homeroom is a Digital Sanctuary. Your membership gives you instant, lifetime access to our member portal, designed to be your "Parent Handbook". While the guide is digital for you, the experience is strictly analog for your children. They will work exclusively in their physical Wonder Journals.
How much printing is involved?
We’ve designed this journey to be low-ink and low-stress. Most of the curriculum is meant to be viewed on your phone or tablet while your hands are busy at the table. You only need to print what you want to use, such as specific Wonder Journal prompts or Heirloom Project guides.
Will I have to spend a fortune on supplies?
No! Our philosophy is to "shop your house" first. Most activities use pantry staples or treasures found in nature. We encourage your to be creative and use what your have, shop your local thrift stores or even a Buy Nothing group. For everything else, we provide a curated Amazon shopping list so you can have supplies delivered right to your door.
-
What is your statement of faith?
We are a non-denominational, Christ-centered curriculum. Our core belief regarding faith is centered on the gift of salvation: JOHN 3:16
How is faith woven into the curriculum?
Our goal is for faith to feel like the air you breathe—natural, life-giving, and part of everything. It is not a separate, "cheesy" subject. Faith is integrated through:
Mornings with Jesus: A daily anchor of scripture and prayer.
Christ-like Virtues: A weekly focus on a character trait like kindness, patience, or stewardship.
A Creation-Based Worldview: Every science and nature lesson is presented through the lens of a world designed with purpose and wonder by a loving Creator.
-
What are the three learning stages?
We trade "grade levels" for a One Table approach.
Explorers (ages 3–4): Focus on sensory play and joyful exposure.
Pathfinders (ages 4–5): Bridging the gap with letter sounds and early quantity.
Voyagers (ages 5–6+): Deepening observation and recording findings in their Wonder Journal.
Is this curriculum academically rigorous?
We believe "rigor" for young children isn't about worksheets; it’s about building a powerful foundation for a lifetime of learning. Your child will develop crucial executive function skills, pre-reading and math competency, and a robust vocabulary through Living Math and our Secret Sounds phonics method.

What age is "A Year of Wonder" for?
"A Year of Wonder" is lovingly designed for children ages 3–6+. At the heart of every core experience are our three learning levels: Explorers (3–4), Pathfinders (4–5), and Voyagers (5–6+). This makes the curriculum perfect for family-style learning, allowing you to teach multiple children together at the same table without the stress of separate planners.
Is this a complete curriculum? What subjects are covered?
Yes! It is a comprehensive, all-in-one resource for the early years. Our integrated, thematic units seamlessly weave together Bible, Science, Literacy, and Math. We also include lessons in Art, History, Geography, and Social-Emotional Learning to ensure a rich, well-rounded academic foundation.
How many units are included and how long do they last?
"A Year of Wonder" includes 12 monthly units designed to follow the natural rhythm of the seasons. As a Founding Member, you also receive our "Wonder-Full Electives" (like Little Gardeners and Little Chefs) that you can sprinkle in during holiday breaks or use to create a light and joyful summer rhythm.
Can we do any unit at any time?
We have carefully designed the curriculum to flow in a specific academic order, particularly for our phonics and number sequencing. While you can start your journey at any time of the year (you don't have to wait for September!), we recommend beginning with Little Oceans and following the sequence of units from there. This ensures your child builds a solid foundation, as each unit gently layers new skills upon the last.
