The Happy Middle
When you first start looking into this world of homeschooling, it’s easy to feel like you’ve wandered into a bit of a tug-of-war. You look at the options and find yourself wondering if you have to choose a side. Do you want your child sitting at a desk doing phonics worksheets for three hours, or do you want them outside playing with rocks and chasing butterflies?
It can feel so overwhelming, especially when your little ones are still so small. You don't want to crush their spirit with a rigid checklist, but you also don't want to feel like you’re just waiting for them to learn to read by osmosis while you wander aimlessly through the day.
I want to welcome you to the happy middle.
At Little Homeroom, we believe the best learning happens in that sweet spot between those two worlds. We value that spark of child-led curiosity because we know that when a child is actually interested, they become a total sponge. But we also know that as a mama, you want to feel like you’re actually going somewhere. You want a rhythm that feels peaceful and intentional, not just a series of random activities.
Think of this curriculum as the kindling for your child’s natural fire. I’ve put together the living books, the Bible stories, and the tiered activities so that the heavy lifting of planning is already done for you. This gives you the space to actually be present. It means if you’re diving into a unit and your child becomes completely captivated by a ladybug or a tide pool, you have the permission to stay there as long as you need to.
We’re here to support that beautiful partnership between you and your child. Whether they are currently in a stage of collecting rocks with high enthusiasm or they’re ready to start documenting their world in a journal, there is a place for them here. We aren't just checking off subjects; we are taking a joyful adventure together, one morning at a time.
